Heading South to Ideal Beach Resort

With only a week in India, we didn’t spend much time in Chennai that first day. One of my goals was to visit the Stone Temple in Mahabalipuram. When my boss heard I was going to India, he arranged for us to have a driver while in India, so we loaded up the car and headed south. It’s one of the reason why I’ve been with my company for over eight years and have no intentions of ever leaving.

We stayed at Ideal Beach Resort. Quaint. Probably not the highest rated, but it was a cool little spot to lay our heads.

There’s a board at the reception check-in welcoming the new guests. Nduku found that very charming.

Me not being a beach person, it was good that the place wasn’t crowded. We almost had the beach completely to ourselves. Unfortunately, it was windy so the yellow flag was out. Basically, yellow flag meant that if you got in the water, you were on your own.

But they did have a pool. That’s always Najwa’s favorite part of any trip.

The food was pretty good, but I’m not a foodie. I based that on the fact that it wasn’t too spicy and that Najwa actually ate her food. There was live music, the weather at night is brilliant, and jet lag was finally starting to wear off. We were ready for the next day’s adventures.
