Strolling Through New York Before the Prince Concert

If you’re with someone who has never been to a Prince concert, and Prince decides to give a couple of shows in New York, you go. Even if you have to drag a 3-month-old baby to the freezing cold city. It’s Prince. And you have to go.

Yes, I dragged Nduku and our three year old up to New York just to make sure Nduku has been to a Prince concert. They’ve become few and far, far between so no chance we were going to miss this.

We stayed at Hotel 17. Excellent price but, well, the rooms were about as big as the tiny bed. Meaning you could almost touch both walls simultaneously. And the bathroom, well, it was a community bathroom. And shower. For everyone on the same floor. The view, well, it was of a brick wall.

Who cares! We’re going to a Prince concert!

To temper the anticipation, I went for a walk and took a bunch of random photos of random things in New York.

Nduku has a co-worker who takes amazing photos of squirrels. He has taken hundreds of photos of squirrels. He catches them at the best moment that makes his squirrel photos more than just a photo of a squirrel. I took this one and it just looks like a squirrel.

Anyway, made it back. Time to get ready to catch up with some friends and get the show started.
